Roman L. Jacquez, a long-time resident of San Juan Bautista and
Gilroy, died Sunday. He was 84.

Roman L. Jacquez, a long-time resident of San Juan Bautista and Gilroy, died Sunday. He was 84.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Jacquez served three years in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He received the Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He also was an active member of the VFW, San Juan Bautista Chapter and the Gilroy American Legion.

Mr. Jacquez is survived by his wife Bertha; daughters and sons-in-law Aurora and Richard Frame and Rachel and Richard Ponce; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers; six sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday followed by a noon Mass at Mission San Juan Bautista. A reception SJB VFW Post No. 6359 will follow.

Arrangements are through the Habing Family Funeral Home.

Donations to cancer research are preferred and may be made through the funeral home.
