Rose (Ruza) Arnerich passed away Sunday morning at her home in
Hollister at the age of 75 after a lengthy illness. She came to the
United States in 1955 from Dol, Brac, Croatia where she was born,
and has lived in Hollister since then.
Rose (Ruza) Arnerich passed away Sunday morning at her home in Hollister at the age of 75 after a lengthy illness. She came to the United States in 1955 from Dol, Brac, Croatia where she was born, and has lived in Hollister since then. She had worked for the local cannery for 30 years. She was a Member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Benedict Church. Rose loved to garden, sew, make beautiful country dolls and enjoyed fresh flowers from her yard. She loved to travel and took many trips to Lake Tahoe and took one extraordinary trip with all her children and grandchildren to Croatia.

She was the wife of the late Peter Arnerich who died in May of 1997; mother of Jack Arnerich, wife, Stasia, and Mary Andrade, husband, Joe, all of Hollister; grandmother of Rachelle, Ashley and Megan Arnerich, Ryan, Justin, Jason and Nicole Rose Andrade all of Hollister; sister of Antica Vrsalovic, Ksenija Matulic, Sretna Vladislavic and Marija Matulicin of Croatia and Europe; numerous nieces and nephews in Croatia, Germany and Australia, Andrea and Tom Simunovich, Helen Ostoja in Hollister and the late Frank Ostoja. She is also survived by her nephew Zoran Matulich of San Francisco and very special friend and neighbor, Arlene Aby. 

Visitation will be at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home on Friday from 10am to 7pm. A portion of the Holy Rosary will be recited Saturday morning at 9:15am in the chapel of the funeral home and the funeral procession will leave afterwards for a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church which will be offered at 10am.

Graveside services will follow at the Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery.

Contributions are preferred to Hope For A Cure Memorial Educational Scholarship Fund in memory of Juli-An Rowe and Karen Flaherty, or the Hospice of the Central Coast, or Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula Cancer Care Center, c/o Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home.
