Rose I. Watson, a lifelong resident of San Benito County, died
Saturday at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. She was 71.
She was born in New Idria, moved to Hollister when she was 11
years old and graduated from Hollister High School.

Rose I. Watson, a lifelong resident of San Benito County, died Saturday at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. She was 71.
She was born in New Idria, moved to Hollister when she was 11 years old and graduated from Hollister High School.
She has been a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and also Sacred Heart Church. She has been an avid supporter of Sacred Heart Bingo since its origin many years ago.
She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family. Her life was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking, knitting, sewing and family gatherings. She especially enjoyed preparing the annual Christmas breakfast, her family members said. She loved decorating her home for every holiday and shopping for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl Watson Jr.; her sons Mike Watson of Hollister and Ken Watson of Hollister; grandchildren Jacob Watson of Hollister, Mark Watson of Rocklin and Scott Watson of Hollister; great-grandchildren Alexis and Heather Watson of Rocklin; sister Elinor Bruno of Hollister; aunt Beatrice Sola of Hollister; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Ed Larios and Dimas Larios Jr. and sister Dolores Teani.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at the chapel of Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the recitation of the rosary, which will begin at 7 p.m. – friends are invited. Family and friends will leave the mortuary chapel Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for Sacred Heart Church for a mass starting at 11. Internment will follow at the IOOF Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the VNA or to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital (SVMH), c/o Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St., Hollister.
