Roslyn S. Karp Hatfield died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004 at Capistrano Beach, Calif. She was 79.
Mrs. Hatfield was born July 23, 1924 in New London, Conn. and moved to Hollister as a young child. Her father and mother, Edwin and Frances Karp, owned and operated Shirley’s Dress Shop for many years.
After school, Mrs. Hatfield became one of the youngest buyers for the Emporium. She then went on to marry and was in show business for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband James L. Hatfield in November 1992.
She is survived by her daughters Sharle L. and John R. Camp of San Clemente, Calif., Shari D. Bruno of Lake Forest, Calif., and Pamela K. Strickland of Kansas City, Mo.; brother Erwin Karp of Chico; and grandchildren Gino Attardi of La Plata, N.M., Nicholas Attardi of Sacramento, Angela Sanford of Aurora, Colo., and Anthony Sanford of Portales, N.M.
Mrs. Hatfield will be laid to rest Saturday, Feb. 28 at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City. The services will be private.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Mrs. Hatfield’s memory to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care of California, 220 Commerce, Suite 100, Irvine, Calif., 92602.
