The Balers seven-straight league championship streak is in serious jeopardy after falling to Palma 6-2 on Tuesday.

With the loss the Balers fall one game below the Chieftains with one game left to play. If the two teams finish the season tied with four losses, San Benito would win the tie breaker.

To get there, though, San Benito would need Palma to lose to Salinas, while beating Christopher.

The Balers have now lost back-to-back league games.

The Chieftains pulled away in the bottom of the third inning with four runs. In the top of the inning, San Benito tied the game at two.

SBHS softball

With a strong pitching performance from Adriana Ibarra, the San Benito softball team improved to 11-0 in league play this year with a 11-1 win over Christopher on Tuesday.

Ibarra threw four innings and allowed only one run and six hits.
