The San Benito softball team improved to 6-1 Tuesday with a 5-0 victory over North Salinas. The Balers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added four runs in the final two frames.

Britt Sparrer finished with three hits for the Balers. Megan Sabbatini knocked in two runs for the Balers.

On the mound, Sabbatini threw seven innings and struck out 10 Vikings. She allowed only three hits.

Volleyball

The Balers rolled to a 12-2 record, sweeping Gonzales on Tuesday and Carmel on Wednesday.

San Benito never allowed Gonzales to reach more than 16 points in the win. The Balers took the first game 25-11 before closing the match with victories of 25-16 and 25-12.

San Benito then closed the week Wednesday with a dominant performance over Carmel. After rolling to a 25-13 first set victory, Carmel played tougher, but San Benito prevailed 25-20 and 26-24.

The Balers are now 8-0 inside league play.

Tennis

The Balers are still searching for their first win, after losing 7-0 to Stevenson on Tuesday.

No Baler won a set during the day. No. 1 singles player Andrew Panger struggled against Riley Scott, losing 6-0, 6-0.
