SBHS Tennis

Thanks to a second-place finish in the MBL’s Gabilan Division, the San Benito tennis team will host Burlingame in the first round of the CCS playoffs on Tuesday.

The first match is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Ridgemark Tennis Center.

The Balers enter the contest with an overall record of 15-3. The winner will play No. 2 seeded Archbishop Mitty on Wednesday.

SBHS Girls Water Polo

The fifth-place finish earned the Balers a berth in the Central Coast Section playoffs, which were announced Saturday.

The 10th seeded Balers (18-9) travel to Palo Alto at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday for the Division I first round. The winner faces No. 2 Leland on Saturday.

The boys water polo team did not receive a playoff bid.

SBHS Volleyball

The Balers (20-13) were rewarded with a No. 6 seed in the 2012 CCS Division I playoffs on Saturday.

The Balers will host Milpitas at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will face Menlo-Atherton on Saturday.

AHS Volleyball

The Hawks will enter the CCS playoffs with an impressive 23-5 record.

The No. 5 seeded Hawks, though, will not host a playoff game and will play No. 4 seed Castillja at 5 p.m. Saturday. The winner will enter the semifinals the following Wednesday.
