The San Benito volleyball team improved to 5-0 Thursday with a dominate 3-0 victory over Christopher in Hollister.

The Balers won the matches first two games 25-17 before closing the victory with a 25-23 victory.

Robert Henderson finished the contest with a team-leading 15 kills and 11 digs. Carlos Gutierrez finished with 10 kills and four blocks. Dylan Lomanto contributed 32 assists with eight digs.

The Balers season continues Saturday in the Campbell Varsity Classic.

SBHS Tennis

San Benito dropped to 0-5 in the young season Thursday, falling to Monterey 6-1. Aaron Francis took home the only San Benito victory, beating Harrison Trengenza 6-4, 6-1.

The Balers return to the court Monday against Carmel.

SBHS Baseball

With a 4-3 victory over Monterey on Thursday, the San Benito baseball team moved to 9-1 this year. The Balers have won seven games in a row.

Against Monterey, the Balers fell behind 1-0 early. The Balers, though, quickly responded with a pair of runs. Eventually, Monterey regained the lead before runs in the third and fourth innings clinched the Baler victory.

Josh George led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a double. Robert Soto and Junior Rodriguez each finished with a pair of hits and an RBI.

On the mound, Hunter Haworth earned the win, going five innings and allowing two earned runs. He struck out five.

The Balers host the Toreadors at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
