Hollister resident Rubert L. Bales died Wednesday, Aug. 20, at
St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. He was 81.

Hollister resident Rubert L. Bales died Wednesday, Aug. 20, at St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. He was 81.

Bales moved to Hollister three years ago to be near family. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked for many years as a production foreman in the business of manufacturing gas and electronic ranges.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Bales and son Robert Bales.

He is survived by his son Greg (Nancy) Bales of Hollister, his grandchildren Andrea Bales of Foster City and John Bales of Chico and seven brothers and sisters.

Arrangements for cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.

Donations may be sent to the Community Pantry, c/o Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.
