her beloved home on May 9, 2005 at the age of 91. Her family was
with her at her bedside during her final moments.
The family of Ruby Mae Williams sadly announces her passing at her beloved home on May 9, 2005 at the age of 91. Her family was with her at her bedside during her final moments.
Ruby was born on March 3, 1914, in Ardmore, Okla. to William and Rachel Collins. She moved with her family to Gilroy in 1946.
Ruby is preceded in death by husbands Jess Butler, Dean Boyer, Salomon Brewer, and Willard Williams.
Ruby leaves behind her loving siblings Ruth Gardner of Dover, Okla., Juanita Colbert of Hayward, and Jim Collins of Houston, Mo. She has joined siblings Donnie, Onnie, Lorene, Jack, Charlie, Leona, and Naomie, and her grandson, Steven Butler in heaven.
Ruby was the loving mother to Geri Mathus, Charles Butler, Leo Butler all of Gilroy and Jessie Hawkins of Santa Clara; grandmother to Ron Powell, Mike Powell, David Rutjes, Natalie Baker, Paul Butler, Kevin Metz, Debbie Butler, and Charles Butler, Jr.; great-grandmother to Anthony Rutjes, Sean Powell, Brooke Powell, Emily Powell, Brent Butler, Sherelle Butler, Amanda Baker, Justin Baker, Lindsay Baker, Chris Butler, Jacob Butler, and Patrick Butler; great-great-grandmother to Jessica Metz and Justice Rutjes.
Ruby enjoyed planting her vegetable garden and tending to her flowers. Her family loved her homemade apricot jam and fried pies. Ruby had many interests, but dedicated her life to caring for her family. We will miss her every day and will cherish her memory always.
Please join our family in celebration of Ruby’s life on Friday at 2pm at Habing Family Funeral Home located at 129 Fourth Street, Gilroy. Entombment will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy. There will also be a viewing on Thursday from 5 to 8pm at the funeral home.
