The Run for the Stink’n Roses 5/10K race will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Solarsano Middle School in Gilroy. The cross country team from Christopher High School is staging this year’s race having taken it over from South Valley Running Club.
After last year’s race SVRC decided after some soul searching that trying to stage two races (RSR and the Mt Madonna Challenge) within a month of each other was just too much for the club to handle. The choice was to either drop the race or hand it off. Fortunately, Michael Bonomi at Christopher HS came to the rescue.
They moved the race from July to September which I think will help registrations and of course school is in session so CHS should have no problem finding ‘volunteers’ to help staff the race. Good luck CHS!
