Senior Aaron Hsia-Coron managed to pace the Anzar cross country yet again Thursday with a sixth-place finish in the second Mission Trail Athletic League Center Meet at Salinas’ Toro Park, where the Hawks finished seventh out of nine teams.
Anzar compiled 156 total points to take seventh, and finished behind Stevenson (42), Carmel (50), King City (78), York (111), Pacific Grove (125) and Greenfield (154).
Marina (220) and Gonzales (255) rounded out the top nine teams.
Hsia-Coron’s time, meanwhile, was a 16:38, placing him roughly 33 seconds out of the top spot. King City’s Samuel Hales earned first place in 16:05.
Fellow Anzar teammate Diego Leon trailed in 29th place in 18:27, while Greg Bissell followed in 39th place in 19:28. Anzar was then rounded out by Josiah Garza (44th, 20:03), Diego Avila (45th, 20:04), Andrew Ornelas (47th 20:15) and Reno May (53rd, 21:26).
On the girls side, Anzar didn’t compete with a full team, and as a result didn’t record a team score, but the team was represented by a pair of harriers.
Junior Emily Wilkinson recorded a 25:41 to finish in 42nd place, while teammate Melissa Weckerle trailed in 43rd place in 25:43.
