Ruth M. “CUCA” Valadez passed away Sunday, December 11th, 2011, at Mabie Skilled Nursing Center Southside at the age of 93 years.

Ruth was a native of Tyrone, NM, spent her early years in Los Angeles and moved to San Benito County at age 15. Ruth had been employed at the Hollister Cannery for 42 years.

She was a member of Teamsters Local 890 of Salinas as well as Sacred Heart Church. Her personal interests were her family members, crocheting; as a seamstress making her own clothes, canning foods, going to Reno, and the happy times playing bingo whenever she could.

Surviving Ruth is her husband Jesus “Jess” Valadez of Hollister; her children Jerry (Pam), Sally (Daniel) and Gloria (Louie); her brother Emilio Gaitan (Sally) of Los Angeles; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her other children Carlos Marquez Jr. , Sal, Richard, and Ernie Marquez.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 15th, 2011, at the Grunnagle Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. with the Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. at the mortuary chapel.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
