Ruth N. Morris passed away Tuesday at Hazel

Hawkins Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years with her family by her side. Ruth was a native of Philadelphia, PA; moved to Santa Clara County many years ago from Bucks County, PA; and has lived in San Benito County the last seven years. Ruth was the spouse of the late George F. Morris Jr. the founder of Morris Steel Company which was located in Santa Clara County and most recently was relocated to San Benito County seven years ago. George passed away in November of 2004. As a resident of Santa Clara County, Ruth belonged to the San Jose Women’s Club; was a 4-H leader; and was a member of several bridge clubs. Her interests included traveling to Austria, England, France, Spain, Mexico and throughout the United States; reading, and attending the movies. She was a great seamstress “items were always just perfect”, and an excellent cook”, she thought of her kitchen as her laboratory”, said her daughters. She is survived by her daughters Ruthann Bradfield, spouse Robert of Williamsburg, VA; Carolyn Morris of Berkeley, CA; and her son George F. Morris III of San Juan Bautista; grandchildren Robert Scott Bradfield, spouse Carey of Santa Cruz, Kristen Claire Bradfield of Newcastle, UK, and Lauren Nicole Morris of Chicago, Illinois; and great-grandson Robert John Bradfield of Santa Cruz. Ruth was one of six children. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, arrangements have been made for private cremation and inurnment.
