Sunrise: 10/26/1955, Sunset: 7/12/2009

Born in Santa Clara, Sally spent her childhood in Soquel, graduated college from San Jose State, lived in Santa Cruz, and spent her last 28 years in Hollister. She was a devoted teacher and spent 20 years with the Hollister School District where she touched the lives of hundreds of children, each of whom had a special place in her heart. Sally loved scrapbooking, quilting, reading, photography, traveling, nature, and pigs. Among the many organizations and groups she dedicated her time to, Sally was also a member of the Lioness Club, HESTA, and Sacred Heart Church. She was well known for her bread making, but most of all, she will be remembered as a dear friend to all who met her. Sally is survived by her mother, Eileen Garske of Hollister; sons, Matthew of Portland, OR, Neil of Hollister, and Nathan of Los Angeles; brothers, Paul Garske of Felton, and Andy Garske of Hollister; and sisters, Joan Edwards of Mariposa, and Mary Heth of Rancho Cordova. Sally is preceded in death by her father, Jim Garske, and sister, Janet Garske. A memorial mass will be held at St. Benedicts Church in Hollister on Friday, 7/24/09 at 11:00 A.M. Cheery attire is encouraged. The family requests donations be made to the Kidney Cancer Association (www.kidneycancer.org).
