Former San Juan Bautista resident Salvador C. Garcia died Tuesday in Whittier. He was 64.

Mr. Garcia was living in Paramount at the time of his death and will be buried next to his wife, Celia Garcia Ceja, who died in November 2002, in San Juan Bautista.

Mr. Garcia had worked making bed mattresses for many years in the Los Angeles area.

He is survived by his children Juan Garcia and Alejandro Garcia of San Juan; Mariano Garcia and Salvador Garcia Jr. of Hollister; Jose Garcia of Los Banos; Carmen Garcia, Celia Garcia and Rosa Mendoza of Oxnard; Maria Salcedo of Atwater; and Socorro Mendoza of Mexico.

Mr. Garcia is also survived by brothers Mariano Garcia of Hollister, Refugio Garcia and Luis Garcia of Mexico, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The rosary was held Thursday at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Epifania Galindo officiated. Mass was held today at Mission San Juan Bautista. Internment followed at San Juan District Cemetery.
