Salvadore (Sal) passed away on January 20, 2008 at the age of 91 with his loving family at his side.
He was preceded in death by Marian – his beloved wife of 58 years
He was the loving father of Diane Hubble (David), Marilyn Tillery (Roger) and Joseph Turturici (Kathy), grandfather of Julie Ann Baker (Dave), Melanie, Jennifer, Katie and Stephen and great-grandfather to Jacob, Ashley, Emily and Lauren. He was brother to Leanore MacLellan, Josephine Pfeifer and the late Marie Turturici. He also had many nieces, nephews and cousins, who meant so much to him.
Sal was born in San Jose, California to the late Joseph and Mary Turturici. He graduated from Live Oak High School in 1936. He served as a Sgt. in the US Army from 1943 to 1945. Upon his return he began his lifelong career of farming in the Coyote Valley. His apricots, peaches, prunes and walnuts have been famous and loved by many for years.
Sal was a member of St. Catherine’s Parish in Morgan Hill where he was an usher. He also belonged to the Italian American Heritage, the YMI and the Santa Clara County Farm Bureau.
Sal will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity and sweet personality. His true joys in life were his family and working in his orchards. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, trips to the casinos, gardening and barbequing with family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, Jan. 25th at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey St. in Morgan Hill at 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
A celebration mass of Sal’s life will follow at St. Catherine Church, 17400 Peak Ave., at 11:00 A.M. Burial services will be on Sat., Jan. 26th at Oak Hill Cemetery at 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to your favorite charity in Sal’s memory.
