Samuel D. “Sam” Villarreal passed away in Hollister at the age of 74. He was born in LaHabra, CA and came to Hollister over 60 years ago. He married his wife, Eliodora in 1970 in Hollister. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and liked spending time with his family, boxing and baseball, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He is survived by his wife, Eliodora Villarreal of Hollister, his children and their spouses, Mary Griffey of Hollister, Peter and Monica Villarreal of Hollister, Robert and Teresa Villarreal of Hollister and Richard and Viviana Villarreal of Hollister, his brothers and sisters, Rutila Lopez of Hollister, Rachel Dominguez of Hollister, Anita Abril of Hollister, Irene Torres of Hollister, Martin Perezchica of Hollister, Mary Torres of Hollister and Lola Bisceglia of Hollister, his grandchildren, Peter Villarreal Jr, Anthony Villarreal, Monique Villarreal, Brandon Griffey, Angel Villarreal, Richard Villarreal Jr, Xzavier Villarreal, Matthew Villarreal, Moriah Villarreal, Nathaniel Villarreal, Julissa Villarreal and Gabriel Gutierrez. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Andrea Garcia, Arnulfo Garcia and Dora Garcia.
Friends can pay their respects on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 12:00 noon until 9:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Rosary will be Thursday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Mass will be on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. for a procession to the church. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
