San Benito High School will hold Freshmen and New Student Orientation on Friday Aug. 20, 2004.

Registration will start at 7:45 a.m. on the Mattson Gym parking lot.

The event is entirely student run, the Opening Assembly will start promptly at 8:15 a.m. with mixers conducted by Corryn Pacheco, Rally Club President and Cheryl Mackie Rally Club Vice President. At 9 a.m., the students will follow their Link Crew leaders to their first sessions. At 10 a.m. the leaders will conduct a tour of the campus where freshmen and new students will have a chance to meet their teachers. All participants will return to the Mattson Gym for a General Assembly at 11 a.m. conducted by Spencer Genesy, the associated student body president.

During the assembly students will be treated to a variety of presentations and performances including a welcome by superintendent Dr. Jean Burns-Slater and San Benito High School’s new principal Ms. Debbie Padilla. Students will also meet the counselors that will influence their careers at San Benito High.

At noon, freshmen, new Students, Link Crew, associated student body and class officers, cheerleaders and other participants will be treated to a barbecue lunch courtesy of the San Benito Prevention Coalition. The SBHS Administration will also hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new campus.
