Sandy Lee Hill passed away at Hazel Hawkins Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 8. She was 59 years old.

Born in Visalia on Oct. 3, 1945, graduated from the College of Sequoias and worked with Bank of America for 25 years before retiring as a project manager. In retirement, the pursued her interests in traveling, kayaking, hiking, reading and photography. She was an avid Elvis fan and a member of the Hollister Elks Club. She enjoyed learning about her Cherokee heritage. She also enjoyed spending time in the company of her grandchildren and her cat, Dorothy Parker.

She is survived by her partner Gloria E. Ruiz of Newark; step-daughter Laura R. Bunyan of Modesto; step-sons Anthony Bunyan of Indianopolis, Ind., and Manuel R. Ruiz of Lathup; parents Alfred and Vera Biggs of Visalia; brother Gary L. Biggs of Porterville; grandmother Delia BIggs of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; one aunt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at noon on Saturday in the Elks Lodge with a ceremony at 1:30pm. A “Celebration of Life” will begin at 2pm Saturday at Machado’s Hillside Chapel, 1051 Harder Rd., Hayward, CA 94542. Contributions are preferred to the Major Project Program for Children with Disabilities, c/o Fremont Elk’s Lodge #2121, 38991 Farwell Dr., Fremont, CA 94536.
