San Benito High School will celebrate its fall homecoming Friday with an afternoon parade before a football triple-header.

The parade, with the theme “Baler Cereals,” will begin its procession down San Benito Street at about 1:35 p.m. Class and club floats will be judged, and some will also parade around Andy Hardin Field before the Haybaler varsity football game against Salinas High at 7:30 p.m.

Football games begin with the SBHS freshman team at 3:30 and the junior varsity at 5:30. Students with an ASB stamp get in free. General admission and admission for students without an ASB stamp is $6.

This year’s homecoming court, which will ride in the parade, is made up of freshman princess Amanda Aguilar and escort Arturo Ezparza, sophomore princess Brittany Lobb and escort Ryan Andrade, junior princess Becky Bonner and escort Austin Elking and senior princesses Phoebe Bachofer, Courtney Datillo, Jennifer Denton, Taran Rowe and Krista Holstrom.

Homecoming king candidates are Jason Silva, Matt Leal, Elias Barocio, Robert Pickett and Rod Souza.

The queen will be announced during halftime of the varsity football game and the king will be crowned at Saturday’s homecoming dance.

The dance will be a semi-formal affair in O’Donnell Gym from 8 p.m. to midnight. Royalty will be announced at 11 p.m.

Tickets will be sold at the door for $6 with an ASB stamp, $7 without a stamp and $8 without ID.
