David Owens released from prison

April 27

Nancy Polizzi has affair with David Owens at Vasona Park

April 27

Frequent phone calls from Polizzi to Owens begin.

May 29

Joshua Joseph released from prison

May 29

Joseph moves in with Polizzi family and begins relationship with Polizzi

May 29

Frequent phone calls from Polizzi to Owens end.

June 4 (approx.)

Joseph learns Polizzi and Owens had sex and says, “David is dead.”

July 16

Polizzi purchases motorcycle for Joseph

July 17

Polizzi asks Joseph not to hurt Owens. Joseph says: “Its out of my hands. It won’t be done by my hand.”

July 23

Mark Polizzi prints a Yahoo Map to Owens’ house. Nancy Polizzi gives the map to Joseph.

July 30

Nancy Polizzi and Joseph drive to San Jose and meet with Owens. Joseph says, “He had a chance to tell me, and he didn’t tell me.”

Aug. 1

Nancy Polizzi and Joseph drive to Fresno and pick up Francisco Vega, then drive into a “bad neighborhood.” Nancy gives Joseph $125, then waits in the car while he and Vega go into a house for 15 minutes to purchase a gun. The three then drive back to Nancy Polizzi’s house in Hollister.

August 1

After returning from Fresno, Vega asks Nancy Polizzi for “latex gloves.”

August 4

Joseph acquires California driver’s license.

Aug. 8–Aug. 12

Nancy Polizzi gives approximately $1,000 to Joseph to start a marijuana business.

August 8

Joseph and Vega drive to Owens’ house in San Jose, wait until an opportune time, then murder Owens in his apartment.

August 12

Police search Polizzi home, arrest Joseph.
