Editor,

In response to the article in the article on Friday July 22 concerning monitoring sex offenders, I agree some people who break the law deserve to be left alone. However, most people who break the law will eventually (hopefully) decide not to re-offend. Yet it’s been proven over and over that sex offenders can’t or don’t change. They are sexual predators and always will be.

Is this something like a dangerous highway that needs to take a certain number of lives before its put up for a vote to get it fixed? How many innocent children have to be killed or traumatized for life before something is done? Its obvious whatever is being done now isn’t working and if I had my way every sex offender would be tattooed with a big “M” for molester right in the middle of their forehead. Or better yet, sent to prison for life after the first proven offense against a child.

I feel if a grown man who decides to molest a child for any reason loses all rights to live with decent law-abiding people. Their names, address, and pictures should be printed and put on every telephone pole in town so everyone knows who they are and where they live.

I would say that all you bleeding hearts should let these monsters live in your house around your children then maybe you might change your views.

However, your children deserve better than that and someone needs to be thinking of their welfare. And it apparently isn’t the District Attorney John Sarsfield.
