Sharon fought a courageous battle against cancer but succumbed to it in Morgan Hill, California on August 30, 2007.

Born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Wesley Clarence Jantzen and Eleanor Louise (Whited) Jantzen.

Sharon graduated from Samuel Ayer High School in San Jose and attended Evergreen college for several years. Sharon was employed at the time of her death by the family owned business, Ivie and Associates.

Other positions she held throughout her life were with the Morgan Hill Police Department, Lockheed, Caelus Memories, the Morgan Hill Quilt Shop, Mother and homemaker. Once asked by an associate to name her all time favorite job she replied, “Being a good wife, a loving mother, a proud aunt and am especially tickled to be able to be an extra doting grandmother.”

Sharon accomplished much in her life, in addition to her jobs, she was Co-founder, and past president of Gabilan Cutting Association, a member of the National Cutting Horse Association, and the Piece By Piece Quilting Guild.

She was known for her great generosity, as she donated her hand made quilts to Community Solutions, a shelter for children of all ages. The children quite naturally prized these quilts and were allowed to keep them when they left the shelter. She also donated quilts to our service members.

Recipient of numerous awards, Sharon received these honors for her outstanding performances in equine events and Quilting.

A great lady; she believed in the inherent goodness of her fellow human beings. Always quick with a dazzling smile, a kind word of hello, a helping hand. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of over 36 years, Don Ivie; her daughter, Susan Ivie, both from Morgan Hill. Her son Stephen Ivie and wife Debi of El Dorado Hills, CA. A brother, Paul W. Jantzen and his wife Diane Jantzen of Lake Stevens, Washington. Grandchildren, Nicholas Cintas, U S Marine Corps, Bradley Cintas, Sean Anderson, Sarah Ivie, Emily Ivie; niece and nephew, Rebecca Jantzen, Palo Alto, CA, and Brian Jantzen and his wife Cindy Jantzen of Woodville, Washington.

Friends are invited to a memorial service on Friday, September 7, 2007, at 12:00 noon at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill.
