Hollister High swimmer Betsy Shimer was third in the 500-meter freestyle in last Friday’s dual meet with Notre Dame in a time of 6:21.26.

Shimer contributed 17 points as the Balers nearly doubled up the Spirits 105-53, despite having just nine swimmers.

Both boys and girls are at Salinas Wednesday.
