Sin Low was born July 26, 1910 in Gilroy and passed away June 7 in Walnut Creek. She was the daughter of Wong Hong Woo and Chung Shee Jeong. Sin went to grammar school in Gilroy until 1919. At that time her father passed away and her mother moved back to China with her eight children where she lived for 11 years.

In 1930, Fook Low took a ship to China to bring Sin back to the U.S. as his wife. They actually got married twice, once in China and a second time at City Hall in Gilroy. They had been neighbors and had gone to grammar school together before she went to live in China.

In 1943, the Lows opened a small grocery store during the war. Then in 1947, they built a new store, Victory Market, on South Monterey Street. A year later they built a large home on South Eigleberry Street that is still owned by the family.

The Lows operated the Victory Market for over 20 years before Fook and Sin retired in 1971. Fook passed away in 1995 at the age of 84 as well as their son Wah in 1992.

She is survived by her children; Wing (Mable) Low, David (Priscilla) Low, Mae (Walter) Minato, and daughter-in-law Shirley Low, grandchildren; Larry (Holly) Low, Karen (Terry) Carlson, Alan Low, Greg (Cheryl) Low, Jeff Low (Tracy Gradone), Ken (Amy) Low and Lara (Steve) Burson, great-grandchildren; Kevin and Kelly Low, Olivia and Claire Carlson, Kailey Low, and Madison Burson; sister of Joe (Emily) Wong and Jimmy Wong, as well as many nieces and nephews.
