The Hollister Aftershocks U9 girls soccer team finished in first place in the Delgado District II League last month and compiled a perfect record during its end-of-year jamboree in Palo Alto.
The Aftershocks, which are part of the San Benito Youth Soccer League, went 7-1-2 during the regular season and finished in a tie for first place with the Orchard Valley Stingrays, which hail out of Morgan Hill.
However, Hollister owned the tiebreaker, which was head-to-head competition, after the Aftershocks defeated the Stingrays 2-1 during the regular season.
The Aftershocks are coached by Adolfo Laguna, Angel Fausto and David Lowi.
“They’re starting to play some really good soccer,” Lowi said. “They’re definitely working hard and moving in the right direction.”
During its year-end jamboree, Hollister opened against its first-place counterpart, the Stingrays. But the Aftershock posted yet another 2-1 victory over the Morgan Hill team.
Hollister finished play on Saturday with a 5-2 win against the West Valley Strikers.
On Sunday, the Aftershocks closed their season with a pair of shutout victories when they defeated the Los Gatos Spirit 1-0 and the Palo Alto Blue Lightning 4-0.
“I’m proud of every girl on the soccer team,” Lowi said. “They all contributed in some way for us to have a good season.”
