The Anzar boys soccer team opened its 2010-11 season with a comfortable 3-0 victory over visiting Marina on Thursday in non-conference action.

Juan Carlos Gonzalez put the Hawks ahead in the first half when he deposited a goal off a penalty kick in the 27th minute, supplying Anzar with a 1-0 lead that would hold until halftime.

Anzar then added two more goals in the second half, both of which were unassisted.

Eduardo Campos staked the Hawks to a 2-0 lead in the 55th minute, while teammate Alejandro Jarra padded the lead in the 78th minute.

Anzar (1-0) will return to the pitch on Saturday when it will travel to Livermore Valley Charter Prep. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m.
