Although each team missed a chance at competing in the postseason, both the Anzar High boys and girls soccer teams were well represented when the Coastal Athletic League announced its year-end awards.

Three members of the boys team and three members of the girls team earned all-league honors.

Seniors Glen Alameda, Alexis Sicairos and Eduardo Zepeda were named all-CAL after the Hawks finished 3-5-2, 3-9-2 overall.

Sicairos made headlines throughout the season for his goal-scoring efforts. In the team’s second to last game of the regular season, Sicairos scored three goals against York. He also scored four goals against the Monterey school during the two teams’ first meeting in early February.

The girls team had three all-league selections as well. Freshman defender Mia Scofield was honored, as were senior mid Michelle Chatley and junior mid Brianna McCain, who led the team in scoring.

McCain compiled 10 goals this season for the Hawks, who finished with a 7-3 league record, 11-6 overall. Chatley was third on the team with seven goals.
