San Benito's Kristen Callanta makes a pass before the ball goes out of bounds as Gilroy's Tyler Juarez tries to block during their game Friday.

With San Benito trailing 1-0 to Gilroy, Berenice Bribiesca wasn’t going to let the Balers fall another game behind in the Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division standings.

Bribiesca tied the game up with 45 seconds left to give the Balers their second 1-1 tie with the Mustangs. The Balers stay a half game behind the Mustangs with three games left to play.

San Benito is now 7-0-2 in league play and 9-3-2 overall. The Balers travel to Watsonville on Tuesday to take on Pajaro Valley at 6:45 p.m.

If the season ended today, the Balers would earn a sport in the Central Coast Section playoffs.

The boys soccer team lost its second game to Alvarez this winter, falling 2-1 Monday in Salinas. The Balers are now 4-3-2 inside the MBL Pacific Division.

Alvarez sits atop the league at 7-1.

San Benito hosts Monterey at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
