After compiling a 12-5-2 overall record and finishing runner-up
in the Tri-County Athletic League, the San Benito Lady Balers were
awarded the No. 10 seed on Saturday for next week’s Division I
playoffs and will open the postseason on the road at No. 7 Leland
(11-8-1).

After compiling a 12-5-2 overall record and finishing runner-up in the Tri-County Athletic League, the San Benito Lady Balers were awarded the No. 10 seed on Saturday for next week’s Division I playoffs and will open the postseason on the road at No. 7 Leland (11-8-1).

The two teams will meet in Leland on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The winner of the match will advance to Saturday’s quarterfinal round against No. 2 Saint Francis (16-4-3).

The San Benito-Leland first-round matchup is one of four on Wednesday. Other matches include No. 11 Carlmont at No. 6 Santa Teresa; No. 12 Oak Grove at No. 5 Mountain View; and No. 9 Palo Alto at No. 8 Watsonville.

First-round byes were awarded to No. 4 Gilroy, No. 3 Monta Vista, No. 2 Saint Francis and No. 1 Woodside.

The Division I championship final is scheduled for March 6 at Valley Christian in San Jose.
