Despite a hat trick from Alexis Sicairos, the Anzar Hawks were unable to post a victory on visiting York Thursday, as the Falcons escaped San Juan Bautista with a 5-3 win.

Sicairos put the Hawks ahead in the 15th minute of the game, but York responded with three unanswered goals to grab a 3-1 lead at the break.

The private Monterey school controlled a one-goal lead throughout the second half, although Anzar’s Sicairos did tack on two more goals for the hat-trick performance.

The Hawks were without starting keeper Damien Sowdeneko, who was sidelined with a bruised thigh.

The two teams finished in a 4-4 tie during a Feb. 5 match in Monterey.

Anzar is now 3-4-2 in the Coastal Athletic League and 3-8-2 overall. The team will play its final regular season game on Friday when it will travel to Santa Cruz to take on Pacific Collegiate at 3:30 p.m.
