San Benito's Ellie Burley gets an RBI as she brings in Britt Sparrer for the Balers first run during their game Tuesday against Gilroy. San Benito won 2-0.

The Balers rebounded from its loss to Notre Dame last week by blowing out Alisal 10-0 on the road Tuesday.

San Benito’s Ellie Burley and Brittani Newman each hit a home run in the Baler win. Taylor Fabing added a triple in the San Benito offensive attack.

Megan Sabbatini and Britt Sparrer split the pitching for the Balers.

“This was expected against Alisal,” head coach Scott Smith said.

Despite the win, Smith is expecting to see more from his six-time defending Central Coast Section champions before heading into the playoffs.

“It’s hard to say what this means,” Smith said. “We were loose but it could have been the competition. I don’t know if it was productive our counter productive.”

The win gives the Balers a 9-2 record inside the Tri-County Athletic League and an overall record of 19-3.

San Benito can clinch the TCAL title with a victory over Alvarez at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Salinas.
