Saturday’s meeting between San Benito and Leigh will mark the second time this season the two teams have squared off. On April 9 at the Mission City Invitational, the Balers topped Leigh 8-2 in the semifinal round.

San Benito pitched both Paige Miguel and Megan Sabbatini in that game. Miguel allowed two runs on four hits through 2.1 innings, while Sabbatini came in for relief and allowed no runs over the remaining 4.2 innings, striking out nine.

At the plate, Samantha Puentes had a pair of singles, a drag bunt and a home run to lead to the Haybalers.

The winner of Saturday’s quarterfinal round will advance to the Division I semifinals, where it will square off against either No. 4 Santa Teresa (23-5) or No. 5 Carlmont (21-6).
