Danielle Acosta pitched six scoreless innings, Jessica Steigelman connected on a three-run homer, and the San Benito Lady Balers defeated North Salinas 10-0 on Monday in Tri-County Athletic League action.

The game was called in the sixth inning due to the 10-run rule.

After San Benito took a 1-0 lead in the first when Mari Vallejo scored on a pass ball, Steigelman made it a 4-0 cushion later in the inning with a three-run blast that plated Jessica Vest and Marissa Adame.

The Lady Balers tacked on two more runs in the third — first with an RBI single by Vallejo and another by a sac fly by Vest, scoring Brittany Sparrer and Samantha Puentes, respectively.

The sizeable lead was then pushed to 10 runs in the sixth inning behind three triples from Ali Ocampo, Vallejo and Adame — Adame’s three-bagger nearly leaving the yard in deep center field.

Meanwhile, the pitcher Acosta allowed four hits and three walks, striking out four in the process.

The Lady Balers are now 6-0 in the TCAL, 17-2 overall.

San Benito will host Salinas on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
