Congratulations go out to Dudley and Amanda Brinnan on the birth of their beautiful baby boy, William Warren Brinnan. William (named after Dud’s infamous Dad Billy) arrived 5 days earlier than expected, on Feb. 21. He has a ton of hair and is absolutely adorable. Mom, baby and Dad are all doing well.

Belated birthday wishes go out to Jean Schmidt and Betty Sans who both celebrated birthdays on Feb. 12. Heidi Hurley and Tel Jones celebrated their birthdays on the 19th and little Rebecca Garza celebrated her first birthday in conjunction with her baptism last Saturday, the 21st while her Aunt, Sarah Schmidt celebrated her birthday on the 22nd. Birthday wishes to all!

Huge congratulations go out to the King City High Lady Mustangs on their great season. They finished to the season as co-champions in the MTAL, sharing the title with their rivals, the Santa Catalina Cougars. The Lady Mustangs were the 4th seed in the playoffs so they were awarded first and second round byes in the playoffs. Their first game will take in the quarterfinals round, next Saturday, Feb. 28 at Santa Cruz High School. There is a very good possibility that they will be playing against, who else, but, Santa Catalina. Catalina has their first game Thursday night, and we play the winner of that game. Couldn’t get much better than that folks! John and Marianne Madson are coordinating a rooters’ bus to travel to the game for all supporters so be sure to contact them ASAP if you’re interested in attending. The more fans we get to travel there, the louder we are and the more pumped the girls get. For more information on travel times, game times, etc., contact John Madson at 382-4231. Good Luck Lady Mustangs, go get ’em!

Congratulations also go out to the boys’ varsity team as they too made it into the playoffs. The boys will play their first game on Tuesday night in Sunnyvale. Good Luck boys!

Many thanks go out to the California High School Rodeo Association District 4 for their role in breast cancer awareness. The District held a “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” day at the high school rodeo last weekend and the kids raised over $650 that they donated to a local person in need of treatment. Way to go kids.
