Cal State University Monterey Bay is putting on a free youth
spring training baseball camp on March 7.
Session I will be for players 7-10 years old and will be held
from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Session II will be for players 11-14 years
old and will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the CSUMB baseball
field.

Dirty Gears MTB XC Series to begin Feb. 21

South Valley Endurance is gearing up for the start of its 2010 mountain bike race series. The newly titled series, Dirty Gears MTB XC, will consist of four races open to all levels of mountain bikers. The series points will be tracked, giving riders the opportunity to either receive a unique handcrafted award, or just enjoy local trails and collect some prizes.

The inaugural race takes places at Fort Ord State Park in Salinas on Feb. 21. The series continues with Santa Teresa County Park (March 6), Harvey Bear Ranch County Park (June 5) and Wilder Ranch State Park (July 17).

Races begin at 9 a.m. and are USA Cycling Sanctioned. For more information, log on to: www.svendurance.com

Mountain Bike Series 2010 continues

The Winter XC Mountain Bike Series 2010, presented by SBRacing.org, will continue with four other rounds scheduled for San Martin (Feb. 20), Salinas (March 6), Gilroy (March 27) and San Jose (April 3).

Entry fee is $35 per round, and races begin at 10 a.m. On-site registration will run from 8 to 9:30 a.m. It is USA Cycling sanctioned, and helmets are required while riding.

Races will be broken into men’s and women’s classes, as well as beginner, sport and expert divisions.
