Frys.com Open tournament director Ian Knight announced Tuesday that 2009 Frys.com Open co-runner-up, Jamie Lovemark, will receive the second sponsor exemption for the 2010 Frys.com Open. Knight will hand out a total of eight sponsor exemptions for the tournament, scheduled to be played Oct. 11-17 at CordeValle in San Martin.

“Lovemark is a talented California native who currently sits atop the Nationwide Tour money list,” Knight said. “His achievements in 2010 alone make him the perfect candidate for a sponsor exemption, not to mention he was runner-up at the 2009 Frys.com Open.”

Lovemark, who turned pro in 2009, plays full-time on the Nationwide Tour. He captured his first title earlier this year at the 2010 Mexico Open Bicentenary subsequently placing him at the top of the money list with $393,288. He has eight career PGA Tour starts dating back to the summer of 2009. His best PGA Tour finish came at the 2009 Frys.com Open where he found himself in a sudden death playoff with Rickie Fowler and eventual champ Troy Matteson. Lovemark, who grew up in Rancho Santa Fe, graduated from the University of Southern California where he was a two-time All-American first teamer and captured the 2007 NCAA Championship title.

The tournament has also received an updated commitment list that includes eight-time PGA Tour winner Brad Faxon and 2009 Bob Hope Classic winner Pat Perez.

The list of committed players also includes a number top PGA Tour players, including the 46th-ranked player on the Official World Golf Rankings list Ben Crane; three-time PGA Tour winner and 2002 PGA Championship winner Rich Beem; four-time PGA Tour winner Steve Flesch and two-time PGA Tour winner and the 29th-ranked player on the 2010 FedExCup list Jason Bohn.

PGA Tour members have until 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, to commit to play in the Frys.com Open. Eligible players are assigned one of 38 PGA Tour priority rankings based on past performances on the PGA Tour. The field will continue to change as players with better priority rankings commit to play in the Frys.com Open.
