Stella Maier died Saturday, Jan. 10, at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister. She was 93.

She was born in Fowler, Calif. and lived in Hollister for more than 50 years after moving here from San Francisco.

She graduated from UC Berkeley and worked as a lab technician in San Francisco, Eureka and for many years at Hazel Hawkins Hospital at the Monterey Street location as well as the present location.

She liked to garden, enjoyed going to Reno for entertainment and in her retirement traveled the world, including Australia and Russia.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Maier, who died in 1975, and by her sister Sue Sevhonkian and her brother Alex Bagdasarian.

She is survived by her sister Grace Gould of Hollister; nieces and nephews Ralph Bagdasarian of Fresno, Francis Bagdasarian of Fowler, Valerie Turner of Riverside, G.G. Uccello of Hollister, Richard Bagdasarian of Fowler and Barbara Bishop of California City. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

Friends can pay their respects Tuesday, Jan. 13, from noon to 8 p.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Rev. Ardyss Golden of The United Methodist Church will officiate.

Interment will follow the funeral at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
