Hollister – A Hollister man was arrested for the third time in a month this week on suspicion of felony drug possession with intent to sell.

Chase Williams Rogers, 22, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of several felony and misdemeanor drug charges, including suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamines and felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell, Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Rodrigues said.

Rogers was arraigned Friday and charged with felony possession of methamphetamines and felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell with an enhancement of committing felony offenses while released on bail, said Greg LaForge, Rogers’ attorney.

“At this point we’re just beginning our investigation on all cases,” LaForge said.

The Hollister Police Department first arrested Rogers on Nov. 7 on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine for sale. At the time, he was carrying a handgun.

Rogers was arrested again on Nov. 25 by the Sheriff’s Office on charges of possessing meth and marijuana with intent to sell. This time, he was carrying a knife.

On Wednesday, Deputy Jason Lei stopped a white Jeep Cherokee with a broken tail light on San Juan-Hollister Road, according to an incident report, and recognized Rogers, the driver, from previous arrests.

Lei ordered Rogers out of the vehicle, noticed signs of drug use and conducted a test on him. Upon searching the vehicle Lei found a meth pipe, 4.3 grams of marijuana, 0.67 grams of methamphetamine, $98 in cash and a cell phone, according to an incident report. No weapon was found.

Rogers is being held at the San Benito County Jail in lieu of $50,000 in bail. He will be in court again Dec. 21 for his preliminary hearing.
