A routine patrol check last Thursday resulted in two arrests on suspected drug charges, according to the Hollister Police Department. Those same two suspects were among six people arrested on suspected drug charges days earlier in the same vehicle, according to the HPD.
Police were on patrol after 7 p.m. Thursday and noticed a motorhome parked in the 800 block of Prospect Avenue, according to an HPD statement. Police discovered one of the occupants was on probation and searched the vehicle, finding methamphetamine and needles.
According to the statement from police:
Hollister Police Officer Mike Paddy was on routine patrol Thursday at about 7:13 pm. He noticed a motorhome parked on the 800 block of Prospect Avenue.
Officer Paddy soon discovered that the motorhome was occupied by Mark Cockfield (51) and Donald Gemette Jr. (50). The initial investigation revealed Mark Cockfield was on probation for various reasons. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine and hypodermic needles in the vehicle and in personal belongings inside the vehicle.
Gemette Jr. and Cockfield were transported to the San Benito County Jail. Mark Anthony Cockfield and Donald Gemette Jr. were booked for possession of methamphetamine and possession of hypodermic needles.
Both Cockfield and Gemette had recently been arrested for drug charges early Saturday morning when they were part of six people arrested on drug charges from the same motorhome.
