Department and California Department of Corrections conducted a
joint operation here Nov. 14 to combat violence and gang activity,
according to a statement from police.
The Hollister Police Department, San Benito County Probation Department and California Department of Corrections conducted a joint operation here Nov. 14 to combat violence and gang activity, according to a statement from police.

Agents and officers conducted parole and probation searches of several individuals and homes within the city limits. They also worked together on patrol – making traffic enforcement stops with the goal of reducing criminal activity and identifying violators, according to police.

A total of 10 people were arrested during the six-hour operation. Several of those arrested are believed to have gang affiliations, according to police.

The Hollister Police Department plans to do many more of these joint operations in the coming months, according to the statement.

Residents were arrested for the following offenses:

– sexual assault of a minor and a parole violation

– possession of methamphetamine

– violation of parole

– driving under the influence

– probation violations

The Free Lance does not name suspects of non-violent crimes who are not yet charged. Look back for names of those residents who are charged by the district attorney’s office.
