Teresa Ortiz died Thursday, Oct. 8 at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose. She was 62.

She was born in Michoacan, Mexico and had lived in San Juan Bautista for 18 years after moving from Mexico. She worked in the agriculture industry for many years. She was a member of the Mission San Juan Bautista parish.

Ortiz was preceded in death by her husband Liborio Ortiz.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Leonardo and Elpidia Ortiz of Hollister, Jorge and Norma Ortiz of Hollister, Elvia and Antonio Gamboa of Porterville, Erica and Lenin Avila of San Juan Bautista and Placida Jimenez of San Juan Bautista; her sister and brother, Aurelia and Camerino Jimenez of Mexico, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Rosary will be Sunday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.

The Mass will be Monday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. at Old Mission San Juan Bautista.

Interment and graveside services will follow the Mass at San Juan District Cemetery.
