Terry Lewis, born May 26, 1931, passed away peacefully at home on October 8th 2007, in Morgan Hill, California.
Terry Lewis was born in Tooran Prayech in Tehran, Iran, of German and Iranian parents. She spent her childhood in both Tehran and Berlin, and later was educated in Switzerland. Speaking four languages, she came to America at age 18 to attend the University of San Diego, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. Terry later earned a Master’s Degree in Education. In 1956 she Married Naval Pilot Allen Ditzen of Kansas City, Kansas, and was widowed when Lt. Ditzen died while landing on an aircraft carrier. She later met and married attorney Gerald Lewis, and had 2 sons, Michael and Marc. Terry Lewis taught Math and Science at St. Matthew’s Catholic school in San Mateo and later became a Real Estate broker, opening her own brokerage, TLC Realty in Morgan Hill, which she ran for 30 years. Terry adored her children and was a devoted and caring mother. She also adored opera, ballet, classical music, antiques and fine art, frequently visiting the San Francisco opera and ballet performances. She loved roses and enjoyed cultivating her large rose garden at home. Terry was a beautiful, intelligent and hardworking woman who had a wonderful wit, and was revered by her friends and colleagues as a loyal and uniquely insightful woman. She is deeply missed by her loving family.
Terry Lewis is survived by her two devoted and loving sons, Michael and Marc, and four sisters Gity Iry, Mahine and Puri.
Terry Lewis will be remembered in a memorial Mass at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, October 22nd at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in San Mateo, and interred in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California at 1:30 P.M.
