Terso G. Cadei

TERSO G. CADEI, 95, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his home in Gilroy.

He was born in Gwinn, MI on February 26, 1916, to Italian immigrants Antonio Santo Cadei and Maria Pasqualina Pistono Cadei. He moved to Gilroy with his family in the early 1920’s.

He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, Past President of the Gilroy Sons of Italy, Past President of the Forest Street Bocci Club and a member of Painters and Tapers Union Local 507.

His passion in life was dancing to the wonderful music of the 1940’s and he also enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, visiting relatives and making an occasional pilgrimage to a casino or two.

He was the husband of the late Marian E. Franz Cadei. Father of Marie A. Dollar, Rebecca D. Cadei and Terso G. Cadei II and step-father of David G. Peoples (Marianne) all of Gilroy.

He was the grandfather of Stacey Peoples Rosati of Victor, ID, Frank E. Dollar (Kristin) of Gardnerville, NV, Denise Jackson Covita (Isaiah) of Morgan Hill and Megan Jackson of Gilroy. He was the great-grandfather of Ethan Rosati, Savana Covita, Marcel Covita, Kailynn Dollar, Kenley Dollar and Mahina Jimenez. He was preceded in death by his brothers Reno, Raymond, James and his sister Ida Gallo. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Vigil will be at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 20, 201,1 at Habing Family Funeral Home with Visitation beginning at 5:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be 10am on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy. He will be buried with his dance partner of 52 years at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
