Editor,
Thank you to all of the wonderful individuals and businesses from San Benito County who took time from their busy schedules, putting others first for 24 hours, to help us reach our goal of helping to find a cure and stomp out cancer!
In our seventh year, we have had an overwhelming turnout of volunteers. In fact, 124 gracious individuals gave their time to help us with registration, luminarias, survivorship, hospitality, logistics, teams, finance, entertainment, Kids’ Zone, mission delivery and ceremonies.
If you made it out to the event, they were the ones in the yellow shirts doing just about anything and everything that the committee needed.
A special thank you to the Top Hatters and National Guard for security; Hazel Hawkins Hospital for breakfast; Assist-2-Sell (Richard Anderson) for dinner, Kiwanis Club for the hot dog cart; The Java Stop (Shelly Donati), Don Chapin Company (Nick Arnold) for the water truck; YMCA for the Splat Zone, Dave Baumgartner for karaoke; Designing Women (Diane Tavares) for morning stretch; King’s Cleaning for clean up; and Community Bank (Sheri Taylor and staff).
We couldn’t have done it without all of your efforts and would like to invite all of you back again next year. As we continue to grow, we hope that you are able to recruit another volunteer to a life changing experience that they’ll want to be a part of year after year.
