Sarah Smith, playing the role of Gwen, performs with Nathan Raff, playing the role of John Cummings, during a dress rehearsal for Pintello Comedy Theater's Here on the Flight Path at the Grange Hall. The play opens August 15 and runs Fridays and Saturdays

Laugh until it hurts with Pintello Comedy Theater’s latest production, “Here on the Flight Path.”
This full-length comedy by Norm Foster takes place on adjoining apartment balconies, on the flight path in the big city. John Cummings (Nathan Raff) makes friends with three different neighbors (all played by Sarah Smith).
A prolific writer, Foster has had more than 40 plays produced on professional stages, including many enjoyed by Pintello audiences through the years. He pens plays known for their humor, accessibility and insight into everyday life.
Raff and Smith are both veterans of South County stages, and each is trying to keep a straight face during rehearsals. With only two actors to share the stage, director Whitney Pintello said the script is quite a challenge.
“The rehearsals have kept us in stitches,” she said. “I’m delighted to be directing one of my all-time favorite shows! We’re having a ball with Norm’s witty dialogue and hilarious gender perspectives.”
“Here on the Flight Path” shows at 8 p.m. Aug. 15-16, 22-23, 29-30 and Sept. 5. A matinee will show at 2 p.m. Aug. 24. As always, the Pintello family will be on hand to welcome patrons to the historic Gilroy Grange Hall at 8191 Swanston Drive in Gilroy. Tickets are $20.
