Thelma M. Shelvock died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Hazel Hawkins Northside Convalescent Hospital. She was 93.

Mrs. Shelvock was born in San Jose and had lived in Hollister for seven years. She had earlier lived in Paso Robles, where she was retired as an elementary school teacher, and moved to Hollister to be nearer to her family. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, the California Retired Teachers Association and the American Association of Retired Persons.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Mary Mattos and Joan Destefanis, both of Hollister, Sarah Schmidt of Paicines, Helen Childrey of Carmel, Harry Shelvock of Washington and Viola Smith of Illinois.

Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. for graveside services at the IOOF Cemetery.
