Theodore (Ted) Wood, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home on Sunday evening December 18, 2011, after a courageous fight with lung cancer. He was a devoted husband of 46 years to Linda Wood of Gilroy. He was a loving father of Ted Wood, Tim (Diane) Wood and Leeanna (Bryant) Hammer of Gilroy and grandfather of Michelle, Karisa, Teddy, Andrew, Melissa, Jamie, Lauren, Brandon and Madison.

Ted was a fun-loving person who enjoyed trying new things. He was always willing to lend a hand with a smile and lots of laughs. He valued, deeply loved and enjoyed most of all his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren going to the park, tea parties, getting ice cream, playing video games, going to A’s games, and playing Yahtzee. He loved to dance and listen to 50s music and spending time with his wife in Monterey. He loved to share his Oakland A ‘s season tickets with everyone. He also enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and playing golf. He loved life and all that was in it.

He had a strong work ethic and worked as an Assistant Manager for Safeway for over 35 years. He then pursued his dream to be in accounting and joined Gilroy Unified School District for over 10 years.
