Tim, 49, passed away unexpectedly on June 20th of medical conditions, and poor health. He was born in San Francisco, CA and lived most of his life in Gilroy and Santa Cruz areas. Resident of Santa Cruz County, he is preceded in death by his father James Maguire and survived by his mother Elizabeth Maguire. He is survived by his beloved brothers and sister; Jack Maguire of Gilroy, Dan and wife Carolyn Maguire of Murrieta, CA, Tom and wife Erin Maguire of Albany, Oregon, Peter Maguire of Gilroy, Mary and husband Craig Johnson of Chico, CA. along with 12 nieces and nephews.

His life was full of fantastic achievements as an athlete, an excellent swimmer and diver. He will be remembered for his selflessness, and an avid lover of nature, and the ocean. He took pride in his love for charity and community service, feeding the homeless and carrying the gift of Christ’s love for one another, along with his craftsmanship of woodwork and carpentry. He attended St. Mary’s Grade School, and Gilroy High School.

He was a kind, good man, a “people person”. His curly hair and great smile were quickly admired and his great attitude won many friends. He was very well liked and his generous spirit helped to guide many young, old, disabled and under-privileged was especially great with kids. He lived an amazing life, wandered through it like a nomad, with a smile and a handout for anyone in need. His amiable nature and engaging smile will truly be missed by his family, friends and neighbors. He was a joy to be around and he could light up any room with his gift for clever conversation and his wonderful charisma.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Church in Gilroy, CA. with a reception to follow until

6:00 P.M. at the Serra Cottage Hall at St. Mary’s School. The Irish wake and rosary will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M. on Friday night. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Josephs center or the Lords Table of St. Mary’s.
